Come join me on a Weekend retreat where together we will experience the magic of the beautiful Won Dharma Center in Claverack, NY. We will have the opportunity to begin our days with early morning meditations led by the Won Ministers and move our bodies and open our minds with Vinyasa flow morning and evening classes and Mindfulness and Ayurvedic workshops. In between we will enjoy the serene surroundings, explore the walking trails and enjoy delicious Korean influenced meals utilizing the freshest, natural and local ingredients – some from their own organic gardens. The meals are mainly vegetarian but we will have fish or chicken on Saturday evening for dinner.

The Won Dharma Center is set on 426 acres of rolling hills and fields offering panoramic views of the majestic Catskill Mountains. Surrounded by wooded foothills with a nearby brook, the retreat center is a serene natural setting for contemplation and renewal. Against this serene setting the Won Dharma Center is a green community designed with sensitivity to nature and issues of Sustainable Design. The eco-friendly buildings were designed to provide a tranquil and meditative atmosphere. The Won Dharma Center won the 2010 Design Award from Faith & Form / IFRAA International Awards Program for Religious Art and Architecture.

What Is Won Buddhism (The Image Of A Circle)?

Have you ever looked into a mirror? Not at the images reflected, but at the mirror itself. Have you looked into your original mind? The mind before any thought arises.‘Won’ literally means a circle and this symbolizes our original mind or our true home. Its circular image is called Il Won Sang: Il means one, Won means circle, and Sang means image.
